Privacy Policy for SpeakIn
Last updated: July 14, 2025OVERVIEW
SpeakIn is a Chrome extension that converts voice to text and injects it into input fields on web pages. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the extension works.
DATA COLLECTION
SpeakIn does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. We do not have access to your voice recordings, browsing history, or any information you type or speak.
MICROPHONE ACCESS
SpeakIn requests access to your microphone solely to capture voice input for speech-to-text conversion. This is processed entirely by Chrome's built-in Web Speech API on your device. Your audio is never recorded, stored, or sent to any third-party service.
AI FORMATTING
When AI formatting is enabled, the transcribed text (not audio) is sent to SpeakIn's own API at speakin.newtonraul.me solely for the purpose of formatting. This text is not stored, logged, or shared with any third party. It is used only to return a formatted version of your text.
LOCAL STORAGE
SpeakIn stores only one preference locally on your device whether AI formatting is enabled or disabled. This is stored using Chrome's built-in storage API and never leaves your device.
THIRD PARTIES
SpeakIn does not share any data with third parties. We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. CONTACT If you have any questions about this privacy policy please contact the developer at newton4raul@gmail.com or visit newtonraul.me.
